Glory be to the One who made this means of transport subservient to us,
and we could not have done it by ourselves.
And surely, to our Lord we will return.- Surah Az-Zukhruf (43:13–14)
Narrated by Ibn Umar (رضي الله عنه): Whenever the Messenger of Allah ﷺ mounted his camel for travel, he would say “Allāhu Akbar” three times, then say:
“Glory be to the One Who has subjected this to us, and we could never have accomplished this by ourselves. And surely, to our Lord we shall return.
O Allah, we ask You in this journey of ours for righteousness and piety, and for deeds that are pleasing to You.
O Allah, make this journey easy for us and shorten its distance.
O Allah, You are the Companion in travel and the Guardian over the family.
O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the hardships of travel, from distressing scenes, and from an evil return in wealth and family.”
And when he returned, he would say:
“Āyibūn, tā’ibūn, ʿābidūn, li-rabbinā ḥāmidūn.”
(We return, repent, worship, and praise our Lord.) - Sahih Muslim (Hadith 1342)
