Azkar of the Adhan
Repeating the Words of the Mu’adh-dhin
Narrated Abu Sa‘īd al-Khudrī (رضي الله عنه):
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
“When you hear the call to prayer, repeat what the Mu’adh-dhin says.” - Sahih al-Bukhari 611-Sahih Muslim 383
Exception: When the Mu’adh-dhin says
حي على الصلاة
حي على الفلاح
You should say:
Arabic:
لا حول ولا قوة إلا بالله
English:
There is no might and no power except by Allah.
Hadith (Full – English)
Narrated ‘Umar ibn al-Khattab (رضي الله عنه):
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
“When the Mu’adh-dhin says: ‘Allāhu Akbar, Allāhu Akbar,’ one of you should say the same.
When he says: ‘Ash-hadu an lā ilāha illallāh,’ he should say the same.
When he says: ‘Ash-hadu anna Muḥammadan Rasūlullāh,’ he should say the same.
When he says: ‘Ḥayya ‘alaṣ-Ṣalāh,’ he should say: ‘Lā ḥawla wa lā quwwata illā billāh.’
When he says: ‘Ḥayya ‘alal-Falāḥ,’ he should say: ‘Lā ḥawla wa lā quwwata illā billāh.’
When he says: ‘Allāhu Akbar, Allāhu Akbar,’ he should say the same.
And when he says: ‘Lā ilāha illallāh,’ he should say the same —
from his heart, and he will enter Paradise.”- Sahih Muslim 385-Hisn al-Muslim 22

وَأَنا أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لا إِلـهَ إِلاّ اللهُ
وَحْدَهُ لا شَريكَ لَـه،
وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُه،
رَضِيتُ بِاللهِ رَبًّا،
وَبِمُحَمَّدٍ رَسُولًا،
وَبِالإِسْلَامِ دِينًا
Narrated Sa‘d ibn Abi Waqqas (رضي الله عنه):
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:“Whoever says upon hearing the Mu’adh-dhin:
‘I bear witness that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah alone, Who has no partner, and that Muhammad is His slave and His Messenger;
I am pleased with Allah as my Lord, with Muhammad as my Messenger,
and with Islam as my religion’ his sins will be forgiven.” -Sahih Muslim 386
Dua # 3
Sending Ṣalāh Upon the Prophet ﷺ After the Adhān & This Dua
اللّهُـمَّ رَبَّ هَذِهِ الدّعْـوَةِ التّـامَّة
وَالصّلاةِ القَـائِمَة
آتِ مُحَـمَّدًا الوَسِيلَةَ وَالْفَضِيلَة
وَابْعَثْهُ مَقَامًا مَحْمُودًا الَّذِي وَعَدتَّه
Narrated ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Amr ibn al-‘As (رضي الله عنه):
I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say:
“When you hear the Mu’adh-dhin, repeat what he says, then send blessings upon me,
for whoever sends blessings upon me once, Allah will send blessings upon him ten times. Then ask Allah to grant me al-Wasīlah, for it is a rank in Paradise which is fitting for only one of Allah’s servants, and I hope that I will be that one.
Whoever asks for al-Wasīlah for me, my intercession will be permitted for him.”-Sahih Muslim 384
Supplication Between the Adhan and the Iqamah
Narrated Anas ibn Malik (رضي الله عنه):The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
“The supplication made between the Adhan and the Iqamah is not rejected.”-
