Sunnah Azkar after Salah





Seeking Forgiveness & Dua of Peace (After Prayer)

1) Istighfār & Duʿāʾ as-Salām

Arabic:
أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللَّهَ ×3
اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ السَّلَامُ، وَمِنْكَ السَّلَامُ، تَبَارَكْتَ يَا ذَا الْجَلَالِ وَالْإِكْرَامِ

English:
I seek Allah’s forgiveness (three times).
O Allah, You are Peace, and from You comes peace. Blessed are You, O Possessor of Majesty and Honor.

Hadith Reference:
Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim, Hadith 591

Reward:
• Makes up for shortcomings in the prayer
• Ends the prayer with remembrance of Allah’s perfection and peace

2) Tasbīḥ, Taḥmīd & Takbīr (33 times each)

Arabic:
سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ ×33
الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ×33
اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ ×33

English:
Glory be to Allah (33 times)
All praise is for Allah (33 times)
Allah is the Greatest (33 times)

Hadith Reference:
Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī, Hadith 843

Reward:
• Equal to the reward of charity
• Raises one’s rank
• Forgiveness of sins

3) Āyat al-Kursī (Once after each obligatory prayer)

Arabic:
اللَّهُ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ الْحَيُّ الْقَيُّومُ …
(Sūrah al-Baqarah 2:255)

English:
Allah—there is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of all existence…

Hadith Reference:
Sunan an-Nasāʾī al-Kubrā, Hadith 9848

Reward:
• Nothing prevents entry into Paradise except death

4) Sūrah al-Ikhlāṣ, al-Falaq & an-Nās (Once each)

Arabic:
قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ ×1
قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ الْفَلَقِ ×1
قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ النَّاسِ ×1

English:
Say: He is Allah, the One
Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of the Daybreak
Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind

Reward:
• Protection from evil
• Spiritual safeguarding after prayer
